Accessibility Statement

Glenogue is a small, family-run farm. We want everyone to be able to find us, learn about the lodges, and make a booking with as little friction as possible — whatever device they use and whatever their needs. This statement explains the steps we take, where we know we fall short, and how to reach us if something isn’t working for you.

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA — the standard referenced by the European Accessibility Act and Irish accessibility law. These guidelines help make websites perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology.

Our website is built on Wix, and our booking is handled through an integrated reservation system. We work within the accessibility features those platforms provide and supplement them with our own choices in how we write, structure, and present our content.

What we do to keep the site accessible

  • We write in plain, clear language and keep pages uncluttered.

  • We use proper headings and structure so the site can be navigated with assistive technology.

  • We provide text descriptions for meaningful images.

  • We aim for readable text sizes and sufficient colour contrast between text and background.

  • We design so the site works on phones, tablets, and computers.

  • We avoid relying on colour alone to convey information.

Where we know there are limits

We’re honest that, as a small farm rather than a large company, our site is a work in progress and may not yet meet every Level AA criterion. In particular:

  • Some content provided through third-party tools — such as the booking and payment system, or embedded maps — is outside our direct control, and its accessibility depends on those providers.

  • Some older images or media may not yet have full text alternatives. Where we find a barrier, we work to fix it. If you come across one, please tell us — it genuinely helps.

Tell us about a problem

If you experience an accessibility barrier on our site, please get in touch at info@glenoguefarm.com and tell us what happened and which page you were on. We’ll respond as soon as we can, normally within 2 weeks, and do our best to put it right.

Enforcement

In Ireland, the European Accessibility Act is overseen by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), with advice from the National Disability Authority. If you’ve raised an issue with us and aren’t satisfied with our response, you can find more information at nda.ie and ccpc.ie.
